This is an ongoing project for the Macaulay Honors College Seminar 2. The purpose is to learn about the Golden Venture as an event in itself, and then to see what meaning can be extrapolated relevant to the modern situation in the US. The parallels to the contemporary caravans form Central America attempting to cross the border are easily drawn, and in this sense by looking at the Golden Venture, we can examine our country and see if we’ve learned anything, or if we’ve regressed further.
